Woodford County football coach Dennis Johnson earned national high school player of the year honors at Harrodsburg High School playing for his father. On Saturday, Aug.. 22, 2026, his Yellow Jackets played in the final Fort Harrod Bowl at Alvis Johnson Field in Harrodsburg, Ky. Mercer County will have a new stadium on its campus next season.
